Hebrews 1:3
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Jesus, the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, wow! What a beautiful picture of who He is and then we see in this verse that He is all powerful, our redeemer and now sitting next to God the Father. When we look at all of that it can be a bit overwhelming to think of our attempts to be like He was in His everyday walk. Truth be told, we can’t; we were never meant to try to be like Him on our own that is why when He left He sent the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law” Once we accept Jesus as our Savior we have the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us and He already possesses those qualities so they are yours. The more control you give God over your everyday life, the more of His qualities you will have in yours. If you recognize some of the fruits of the Spirit as lacking in your life then ask God to take control of that area of your life and allow Him to work in and through you to help you to be more like Him. Ladies, we cannot live a life pleasing to God on our own, He wants us to rely on Him.

Jesus contains all the power and glory of God and the fruits of the Spirit, He wasn’t some sort of wimpy guy walking around, He was a powerful man full of God! We need to be careful that we don’t think we are supposed to be door mats, we are to be self controlled and our actions, thoughts and words always need to be directed by God, then we will know that we are behaving in a way that pleases Him. It is such a fine line at times to know what to say or if to say anything at all, we really need to be constantly seeking God and His wisdom. His answers are not always going to be what you want to hear, and you may find that it is more difficult to be gracious than it is to take a stand for things you fully believe in, but the goal is to give glory to God in all that we do so I challenge you today to allow Him to guide you even if it is uncomfortable in the beginning. Our nature is sinful so we don’t just automatically wake up to be all of these things, but the more we give to Him the more we will behave like Him.
