Psalm 145:13, “The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does.”
Let’s face it, faith isn’t always easy and it doesn’t promise to make things easier, but it does make things possible. There were places when Jesus walked the earth that He didn’t do many miracles because of the lack of faith. There are times in your life when faith is actually your choice. You can wallow in your unbelief and fuss that things will never change, or you can believe that if God has promised He is faithful. Now, I get that doesn’t mean that everything you pray for and want will come out the way you want or expect. Faith walks hand and hand with trust in God and His wisdom and love for you.
Sometimes faith is not an easy lesson because it requires trust. It means that when you can’t see what is coming you trust that He does and He will guide you. It means that when the ground you are on seems shaky you know He is there and will lift you up. It means taking one step at a time and trusting Him to not allow you to fall because you are walking with Him. It means being willing to do, oftentimes, what no one else is willing to do. Faith is putting all of your hope and trust in God’s character, not in what you see and not in what you want, but totally in Him. It’s not easy, but it is what He is asking us to do and it is required if you want to continue to move up in your walk with Him.
We all struggle at times and that is when you must choose to block out satan’s lies and use scripture to remind yourself of who God is and the fact that as the verse says above, “The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does.” Don’t allow satan to start the ball rolling with doubt and fear. God’s grace is there for us when we need it but it isn’t there for things we conjure up in our minds due to fear of the “what ifs” so stop those lies at the door of your mind and remind yourself of the faithfulness of God! What has He asked you to do? Do you feel as though you are walking blind and you aren’t really sure what is next? Trust Him and when you feel that unbelief coming on pray and ask Him to “help your unbelief” and give you the strength to believe.
We live in a dark world so pray for God to shed His light on all that you do and to guide you in the days ahead. He knows the way you need to go. He loves you and His desire is for you to follow Him. Keep in mind that this isn’t even just about you it is about all of those who are watching and following you. Will they see you walk in faith or will you give up and settle? Ask Him for His strength. Ask Him to help you ward off those lies that satan is trying to tell you. You will make it if you stick close by God’s side. Honor God by believing Him and taking Him at His word knowing that then you can know that His best is yet to come!
