Pray Knowing You Can Trust Him With It All and Leave It With Him

Jeremiah17:7. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.”

Are you or have you ever found yourself not wanting to just leave things in God’s hands?  I often find myself trying to work out a plan for God when there is an issue that needs to be straightened out.  I have no idea why I do that!  God doesn’t need any advice!  He doesn’t need you or me to guide Him in how to handle anything let alone the storms that come in our lives!

Trust goes along with faith.  That is why faith doesn’t just determine that we know that God is capable to do something, it is believing that whatever He does it is for good.  God sees the whole picture where we only have one small snapshot of it.  You may not understand what God is doing or why it is taking so long for you to see that He is doing anything at all but, you can know that He is working and it is always for good!

God has a plan, Jeremiah 29:11, and He can more than handle whatever you are facing or that your loved ones are facing.  Are you trusting Him?  I mean are you trusting Him completely?  Do you still have your hands in it or are you giving it to Him?  That can be especially difficult if it has something to do with your children or someone else that you love and care about.  For some reason, we just want to fix everything and we almost find it more difficult to give someone else and their problems to God than it is ourselves.  Pray, give it to God and be supportive but get your hands out of it!

I think one of the biggest problems we have with trust is that we have not devoted ourselves to prayer.  We flippantly say that we will pray and walk off wondering how we might be able to fix it or we wander off forgetting there was a need.  When it comes to someone close to us, we too often pray telling God how He should handle it or we pray and then run and get in the middle of it!  We need to spend intentional quality time alone with God in prayer and we need to leave those problems, storms and other situations at His feet!  Don’t pick it all back up again because you will find it difficult to do what He is calling you to do today!  Pray like you mean it and give it all to Him and trust Him.  He knows what He is doing, even if you can’t see it yet.  The waiting is the worst, I know!  There are things I am waiting on that weigh terribly heavy on my heart, but I know my God is still on His throne and I know He sees and He cares and He loves me and He will take care of it all.  We can trust Him and without trust, there really is no faith and without faith, it is impossible to please Him or to expect anything from Him.  Hold on to your hope in Him, knowing that His best for you is yet to come!
