Prepared For Battle…

Ephesians 6:10-13. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

What battle are you facing today?  What struggle has consumed you to the point that you are struggling to even see straight?  Is there something that you are facing that the moment you woke up you found yourself begging God to give you the strength to get through one more day?  No matter how seemingly large or small that thing is, God is still on His throne and He will see you through but you must recognize first who the real enemy is:

1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”  Well, that makes it quite clear, doesn’t it?  So, now what?  How do you fight something you cannot see?  You fight it as Jesus did in Matthew chapter 4, But Jesus answered and said, “It is written……”. You use the word of God!  Arm yourself with what God has to say about you and your situation!  Pray and ask Him to bring to mind scripture that will strengthen you and encourage you and write them down and carry them with you!  Arm yourself with praise and worship music that will remind you of the mighty God you serve and what He has to say about you!

Matthew 14: 28-29, And Peter answered him, “Lord if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”  He said, “Come.”  So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus.  We all tend to remember the next verse where Peter looked at the waves and started to sink, but here I want you to look at the fact that Peter didn’t wait for Jesus to calm the waves, he stepped out in the middle of the storm!  Don’t wait for everything to look pretty, get out of that boat and do what you are called to do today and let Jesus take care of the waves!  Trust Him, keep your eyes on Him and allow Him to show up mighty today in your life!  He loves you!  Ladies, I am not saying this sitting on a mountaintop with the sun shining on every area of my life, God is teaching me so much in the heat of the battle of all Hell coming against me.  Ask God what He is trying to teach you through this!  What can you glean from this battle as you grow your faith in Him?  I know so many of you are struggling and facing things that are overwhelming and there just doesn’t seem to be a way for anything good to come out of your situation, but God can provide a way where there seems to be no way.  So, let’s do what it says in Ephesians 6 and do what we can and then stand!  Let’s stand together in prayer today, I am praying for you, please pray for me as well.  Hold on to James 4:7, Therefore submit to God.  Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”  Choose to allow God to work in your heart through all of this, knowing that His best is yet to come!
