Reflect Him!

Ruth 1:6
Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread

God was working in the Israelites lives back in Bethlehem and Naomi heard about it in the heathen land of Moab. When we allow God to lead and work and bless our lives others are drawn to Him. Is your life enough of a reflection of Christ for others to want to leave the lives they are living to have what you have?

I remember the days when my husband and I were so caught up in the rules of “religion” that the only people who would have wanted what we had were the Christians who were made to feel as though they could never measure up. How sad, we were truly Pharisees living in a way that made the loud statement that Christ’s death on the cross was not how we are accepted by God we needed to follow religious rules. You wouldn’t have been able to find even half of those rules in scripture but we were taught that we needed to do these things because it “looked” good and we were setting a standard. A standard for what I would like to ask now?

Sad to say I have seen both sides of things. I also know what it is like to have lived in a way that no one would have had a clue that I had a relationship with God. That side of life is even more sad!

So my question for you is this: where are you today? Is your walk with God something others can see and desire to have Him leading them? Do others even know you have a walk with God? Are you in a place where you are living a life that puts sinners so far from God that they just can’t see it happening in their lives?

We do need to be examples, humble examples of Christ’s love, forgiveness and grace! We need to be Christ followers not Pharisees and certainly not rebellious. Living a life for Christ is a life that will shine His light by showing others His love, forgiveness and grace. Truly having a walk with God means studying His word and getting to know Him to the point that we look like Him! We can’t look like Him if we haven’t spent enough time in His word to really truly know who He is and His character. The more I study God’s word the more I want to study it! Start today, ask God to show you where you need to start in His word because He knows you better than you know yourself so He is truly the only one who can show you how to begin. Get to know Him so well that when others look at you they truly have a desire to know about Him as well!
