Rejoice Now ~ Your Answer Is On It’s Way

by | Jul 21, 2014

Psalm 13: 5-6
But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.

When you feel as though you have no hope and you can’t seem to see or feel God in your situation and there seems to be only silence coming from Heaven, hold onto all of the great things you have seen God do in your life and the lives of others and know that you can trust Him and His steadfast love to move in your situation.

Verses 1-2a David says, “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day long?” He continues through verse 4 about his enemies, he is frustrated because everything seems terrifying around him and he seems to not be getting any response from God at all so in verse 5 he changes his tune and says, “but I have trusted in your steadfast love…….”

David knew, just like you can know, that God would answer in His time and He would do what was right. He knew in the past that God had dealt bountifully with him and he would do it again. You may not be able to see God moving in your life and situation, but you can trust that He will handle your situation because of His love for you! He will see you through and He will do what is right.

Don’t give up just because your timing isn’t His timing. We all want what we want when we want it, but as we grow up in life we realize that just isn’t reality. We have a four year old grandson who has a tendency to believe that he should get what he wants when he wants it and if he doesn’t he often cries in the hopes that it will speed things up. Well, this Mimi, doesn’t work that way so I just continue doing what I am doing and he can cry if he wants but when he stops and pulls it together then I will listen and we can figure out a solution, but he isn’t going to get something like that snack before a meal or the toy someone else is playing with just because he throws a fit and he wants it now! There are times he just has to wait until the timing is right whether he likes it or not. I am thinking God and I have gone the same route a few times….. how about you?

Rejoice and praise God today no matter where you are in your situation knowing that you can trust Him to deal bountifully with you in His time with His answer!
