Share The Joy

by | Dec 21, 2018

Luke 2:6-7.  And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth.  And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no place for them in the inn.

Bill showed me an article someone had posted on Facebook that someone else had written about whether or not Jesus was born in a manger.  My instant thought was that I don’t understand why someone would care enough to write it and stir up an argument because it doesn’t really matter where He was born, He was born!  Jesus, the Son of God, The Creator of everything was born to save us from our sin!  There’s no end to what people would like to argue about so when faced with something like that, weigh out whether or not it is really worth the energy and frustration to argue about it!  Will the argument bring glory to God or change the other person’s mind!

Jesus was born and that is what matters!  He died on the cross for our sin and we need to focus on giving that Good News to others, not argue about where He was born!  We need to pray for more of a burden to share the Hope we have with others!  People are looking for answers to what happens to them after they die and they are looking for hope and we have those answers for them!  We need to ask God to keep us from getting distracted by things that don’t matter!  (On that note, I must say that Bill got a little slap-happy changing up my blog the other day and he loves Christmas decorations so I have asked him to make some adjustments especially with the bag of gifts on the banner.  LOL. I appreciate his hard work, but I am really trying to keep our focus on the reason there is so much Joy in this season ~ it is the birth of the Son of God)

I would like to encourage you to keep your focus on Him!  Ask God to give you a heart for the lost and the courage to live a life that will make a difference.  Ask Him to show you what you can do this Christmas to reach others with His love!  Ask Him to give you His heart for other people!  The best is yet to come!
