Psalm 1: 1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
If you want to fail in life just do nothing, success happens on purpose. Successful people don’t just wander into success they work at it and plan for it. If you want to be a success spiritually it works the same way. You are not just going to wake up one morning the Queen of spirituality it takes work and planning just like anything else in life.
Ladies if we are planning a wedding or even a back yard barbeque we don’t just wait until the day rolls around and expect everything to just fall into place! Seriously ladies we put more effort into Thanksgiving dinner than we do planning for spiritual growth at times. It is so easy to get complacent because we are so busy but in order to have success we must plan things like Bible studies, small groups and even inspiring TV shows to help us grow spiritually.
If I don’t get my time alone in the morning it really messes up my day but you know what? That isn’t enough! I can tell when I am not doing anything else to grow, I need to have time reading books to help me grow, I have a couple ministers I record to watch at night and I find it very difficult sometimes to fit those things in because I am too busy or too tired from being too busy.
Focus, focus, focus! Take the time today to think of something you can add for spiritual growth this week and just try it to see where it takes you. It may be something as simple as getting together with a few good Godly friends every other week for starters and sharing lunch, prayer requests and taking turns sharing something that God has spoken to you about.
God wants us to be a success on every level of life. Like it says in Romans 8:32 He that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Start planning today for your spiritual growth and watch as the other things in life start to fall into place. Pray for God to show you what to add and what to subtract from your life to grow into the woman of God He created you to be!
