Colossians 3:2
Set your mind on things that are above not on things that are on the earth.

The key here is to set your mind! Do you take charge of your emotions or do your emotions take charge of you? As women we all have our days where our hormones are overwhelming and we can lose track of reality if we aren’t careful. I have had my share of days where I had to stop and ask myself if it was my hormones or reality I was dealing with.

Don’t allow your emotions to rule your day, trust me, I have enough emotions inside probably for all of us lately, but God is teaching me this very important lesson. Don’t make decisions based on how you “feel”. Some of the worst decisions ever made have been made by people following how they feel instead of seeking out God’s wisdom. Take a look at Jonah, Adam and Eve, several of the Kings of the old testament, Elimelech and Naomi and the list of classic examples of this goes on and on, not only in the Bible but take a look around you!

If you set your mind on God and seek Him and His wisdom you will find that your life will have His blessing and protection on it. If you seek the world’s wisdom you will forever be running from something and looking for something to make you happy. True happiness, peace, love, blessing and joy come from God, not the earthly answers to your problems.

Take whatever it is that has you upset, frustrated, angry, depressed, at your wits end, etc and give it to God today. Ask Him to show you what to do and set your mind to follow His wisdom. God’s blessings follow obedience. God’s peace of mind and provision are found on the path He has set for your life. You can’t expect to go your own way and do your own thing and see God’s provision and blessing along the way. Now, here’s the deal, if you find you are already headed down the wrong path you always have the opportunity to turn around and follow him. Ask God’s forgiveness and move on to follow Him from this point on. God is always eager and willing to bring you back in line with His plan for your life so He can bless you abundantly!  Allow God to pilot your decisions.
