Take Just A Few Minutes

Jeremiah 32;17  ‘Ah, Lord God!  It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm!  Nothing is too hard for you!’

Think about who He is for a  moment……. think about what He has done…… think about all He has created and the details that cannot be explained.  Think about what He has done for you and the fact He even created you and He created you with a purpose.  Think about all the stories of Israel; how He delivered them and chastised them and always loved them.  He loves us and He created everything that exists here on earth for us and He created us to love Him!  He wants to be loved by you!

We know that nothing is too difficult for God.  God can handle any situation we face, He can and will heal our broken hearts if we ask, but do you ever stop and think that He wants to be totally loved by you!  He wants you to know Him and love Him for all that He is not just for what He can do!  He wants your thankfulness and your praise.  When my granddaughters pray at night (they both live here right now) Candace and I have emphasized that they need to thank God for things not just ask for things, well …….. if you think a Christmas list can get long with requests you should hear a 5 year old and 7 year old get going on what they have to be thankful for that God has given them.  They both get the concept that God is our provider and creator, so the list may begin with thank you for Mommy and Mimi and Papa and Brian and the dogs and my hair and my clothes, and our house and the toys we have that you have given us and the things our parents have given us and thank you for Jesus and thank you for You, God and thank you for………and the list can go on and on and on until you begin to wonder if you could be there all night with them!  How thankful are we as adults?

God wants us to take the time to praise Him and love on Him.  Have you ever watched a small child singing unsolicited, worship songs?  I had music playing in the living room one day when Patience was only 2 and a half and I looked in and there she was singing away with her little hands raised in the air, “how great is our God, sing with me, how great is our God………”  It was so precious and when God looks down and sees you singing your heart out to Him, He feels the same way.

Take the time today to just spend a few moments thinking about who He is, how much He has done and how much He loves you and thank Him for it.  Take a few minutes today to love on Him for a change and watch how much closer it will draw you to Him!
