The Good, Bad and Ugly

Luke 12:2-3    Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.  therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.

It is a foggy morning here in Middle Tennessee.  As I look out across the yard I can barely make out the neighbors fence right now but I know as the sun comes up and burns off the mist and fog I will be able to see it all clearly, the fence the trees, dogs, birds.  That is what Jesus was trying to tell his disciples in these verses.  He was telling them to not be like Pharisees, hypocrites, be real and know that God will reveal all, the good, the bad and the ugly.

It does us no good to be fake, be real and make sure that all you do and say will glorify God.  Are you one who likes to be filled in on the latest gossip?  Stop it!  Are you one who is sweet to someone’s face but will turn and tear her down to your friends when she walks away?  Shame on you, you will account for every idle word one day.  Do you serve God in your church or community?  Do you do it to serve Him or for the attention?  Do you serve at home the same way?

Whatever we do and say we need to do it all for Him!  Don’t be a hypocrite!  God will reveal it.  Look for ways to honor HIm today!

Now, let’s think about this another way; have you been faithful in what you have been told by God to do and no one knows about it?  Have you dealt with hurts and pain for years as you do your best to serve God but you have remained faithful?  Are you doing your best to allow your words to be life to others, even strangers in passing?  Are you serving Him in ways that no one sees?  God sees it and your time will come and His blessing will pour all over you for your faithfulness, don’t give up today!

Are you hurting today and you have been keeping it a secret?  Are you living in a situation that is ugly but you are doing your best to love and serve God through it?  Stay faithful to all that He has called you to, allow Him to be your guide and show you the way.  He will deliver you and bless you beyond measure.  Stay faithful!
