There’s So Much That We Don’t Know That He Would Like To Show Us

Isaiah 7:14,  Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign:  Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

God gave the world so many signs and prophecies about Jesus, the Messiah.  Even when He was born, God continued to make it known to the world that He was the Chosen one!  The Messiah, the Savior of the world, the perfect sacrifice for our sins.  God provided the way.

I know I have told this before in other studies, but it still gives me chills.  Luke 2:8-12 says, Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.  Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.  For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be the sign to you:  You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”  We read those verses year after year and yet we have missed so much that is packed in there!  Those shepherds were not just “any shepherds”, they were Levitical shepherds who were in charge of caring for and raising the lambs for sacrifice so this message was very clear to them.  When a lamb was born without blemish, that was acceptable for the sacrifice, the shepherds would take the lamb and wrap it in swaddling cloths and put it in the “manger” or feeding troughs to protect it so it could be a sacrificial lamb.  The angels also told them that it would be “Good News” for ALL people, Jesus came to save us all from our sins, as our sacrificial lamb.

God doesn’t miss a detail.  His word is so full of things that are beyond our comprehension, but He has told us that if we ask He will show us great and wonderful things that we do not know.  Too often people get satisfied with what they believe they know and then they miss out on understanding what He is trying to show us.  God loves you and He wants you to know Him.  Don’t get hung up on meaningless arguments, focus on Him and getting to know Him more.  Ask Him to guide you and He will gladly lead you into knowing Him and all that He created you to be.  Don’t settle for where you are or what you know about Him today, seek His face.  You cannot know what His best for you is if you don’t know Him and you don’t spend time with Him.  Ask Him to help you find balance in this season.  Ask Him to also help you to be a light to the rest of the world.  What can you do this year to celebrate Him and His coming to the earth for us?  Seek Him today with your whole heart and look for ways to lead others to Him, so they can know too that truly His best is yet to come!
