Trust Him With Your Whole Heart Today

Genesis 22:13-14  Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.

Abraham had trusted God to provide the sacrifice even though God had told him to sacrifice his son that He had promised Abraham He would bless him through.  Abraham trusted God to come through and of course God did!  Abraham knew that one way or another God had made promises about Isaac and God would keep those promises.

One of the things that really strikes me in this story is how Isaac reacted to the whole situation.  He had to be wondering “what on earth” when his dad tied him up on the alter but he trusted Abraham.  Is your walk with God one that your children look at and know that if you know in your heart that you need to make a decision that is uncomfortable that they trust you because of your relationship with God.  Do they see that you are so God led that they are totally comfortable in the most uncomfortable things that you are doing what is right?

When reading in the books of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel you see over and over either “and he did that which was right in the eyes of the lord” or “and he did that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord.” and in Chapter 25: 2 And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, yet not with a whole heart.”  When you are serving God with your life are you doing it with your whole heart or half heartedly?

God loves you and wants His best for you and your family and He also wants your all.  He wants to see you fully trust Him in all that you do.  If you read Kings and Chronicles one of the things that really sticks out is that it always says, “and his mother’s name was…..”  the kings moms names were mentioned just before it told whether or not he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.  Ladies, your influence on your children is much more noticeable than you may think.  Teach them to trust and serve the Lord with their whole hearts by the way you serve, love and follow God.  They will notice if they see you read your Bible, when they see you pray, how they see you serve, how you handle situations that come your way and just how much you truly trust God.

If there is an area you are holding back in I would encourage you to give it all to God today.  Don’t allow Satan to entice you to hang onto any area of your life, it is not just you it will affect it will affect your children, your spouse or if you are single there are still other people you influence with your life – you are never an island.  Trust God in your situation today with your whole heart so you can name the place you are standing, “The Lord Will Provide.”
