Job 23:11. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
How closely are you following the Lord? Are you walking in His steps?
I grew up in the northern part of the lower peninsula of Michigan and there were many days in winter that the snow was deep! I can remember when I was quite little being outside with my Dad on days when the snow was deep and difficult for my little legs to walk in. It didn’t take me long to figure out that if I could stretch my legs far enough to walk in his footprints, it was easier to walk. I remember one day when he noticed that was what I was doing and he shortened his steps to make it easier on me. That is how closely God wants us to follow Him!
If you will walk in His steps you will find life to be easier to navigate than it is if you are creating your own path! Trust Him, He knows the best route you should take and He will clear the path for you if you will just follow Him. He knows the length of the stride you can handle and He knows the direction you need to be headed in. Just like my dad knew that the shortest route to where we were headed in the deep snow wasn’t always a straight line, you can trust that God will lead you on the best path, not necessarily the fastest!
So, whatever you are facing today, walk in His steps! Ask Him for His direction! Trust that He will guide you and keep you, if you will just follow Him! He loves you more than words can say and His path will lead you to His best!
