Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Have you ever had a craving for something? You know, you get to work and your friend starts talking about the rich chocolate brownies she made last night, she was going to bring some in to work but they were just so moist and rich and luscious that they ate them all! Yup! The whole pan! And now you have to have some chocolate…….. no, not after lunch, you want it right now! When I was pregnant with my son I didn’t crave sweets I craved sharp cheddar cheese slices with dill pickles….. I have heard of stranger cravings that pregnant women have had so I guess mine wasn’t too bad! Cravings are crazy though, you just can’t get it off your mind and you just have to have it!

The more you learn about God, the more you begin to dig in to His Word, the more you just have to have! My daughter Candace and I get all excited when we see that Lifeway has a book we hadn’t seen that is an in depth study of the Bible, we are almost ridiculous about it, but it’s like once you start digging, you just can’t get enough of what is in there! God is so good and the more you get to know Him the more of His goodness you want to find and see! The world is becoming more and more ugly so people blame God when it is not God bringing ugliness it is satan because satan is out to destroy all that he can. If you are only looking at what is going on in the world, you can become very discouraged and disheartened, but you can find hope in discovering more of who God is!

Have you ever played that “question” game when you first began a new friendship or relationship? What’s your favorite color? What’s your favorite movie? Who is your life hero? The questions can be endless! God knows you! He knows how many hairs you have on your head and He cares about every detail of your life! He wants you to know Him! He wants to have an intimate relationship with you! I love Psalm 42:1, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.” I want to know Him! Do you want to know Him? It starts with just giving Him a little more of you each day and spending a little more time getting to know Him. You don’t have to run out and buy a set of commentaries and read them, start by adding a verse to your reading, or maybe just change your radio station in the car for 30 days. You would be amazed at what it will do for your day if you are listening to praise and worship music in traffic or on your way to and from work. Start with one simple thing that you can incorporate in to your day so you aren’t overwhelmed and pray for Him to reveal His dreams and visions for your life. Walk with Him, don’t just pull Him off the shelf when you are struggling. Dive in to that relationship with Him until you just can’t seem to get enough!
