What Are You Thinking?

Genesis 4:7  If you do well, will you not be accepted?  And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door.  Its desire is for you but you must rule over it.

We have a choice and if we choose poorly then sin is at the door of our hearts.  We often look at a verse like this and think of big sins like addictions or stealing, murder, etc. but God has called us to more than that.  In James 4:17 it says, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”  We need to think outside the box for what we should and shouldn’t be doing.  Most of us, I would think, are not going to go out and rob a bank, but how many of us have days where our attitude about everything stinks?

Our attitudes are our choice so we need to be sure that we choose to have good ones.  No one can make you have a good or bad attitude, it is yours and yours alone, good or bad.  It doesn’t matter what is going on around you either, it is still your attitude, you own it and it shows.  Trust me I have had some days that I knew I needed a change of attitude about something but I just didn’t “feel” like changing it, I was enjoying my miserable state of mind and it cost me.  What a waste of a day, running around wallowing in my frustrated bad attitude spilling it all out on everyone around me.  What exactly do we think we will accomplish when we do that?

So, do what it takes today and ask God to show you any area whether it is an attitude or  a bad habit, addiction, whatever it may be and give it all to Him.  Ask Him for the strength to pull yourself up out of that pit and the energy to do it right starting today!  God wants to give you victory and it all begins with your choice.  Don’t allow Satan the opportunity to own your day by following him, choose well and have the victory that is already yours in Christ!
