What Are You Waiting For

by | Jun 23, 2015

Isaiah 40:31
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

We all seem to be waiting for something almost all the time but there are times when we are waiting for that thing that is weighing so heavy on our hearts that the wait seems almost unbearable. Is that you today? Are you waiting and feel that if you have to wait just one more day you are going to lose your mind? Give it back to God, wait on Him to take care of it and stop trying to fix it yourself.

Our strength is renewed when we wait on the Lord, not when we keep taking that thing back to fix it ourselves. Trust Him to bring it all to pass and know that He knows how important this is and His timing is best for your situation. Trust me, I know what it is like to wait for something that seems to be tearing you up inside, but you have the choice to either let it eat you up or give it to Him and wait for Him as He fills you with His strength. God’s goodness cannot be measured and the grace and strength He will give you to face whatever it is you are facing will be exactly what you need to get you through.

I have tried bolting ahead to help Him out and found that wasn’t such a good idea either. It is amazing the mess one can make while “helping God”. If He tells you to do something then by all means do it, but if He has told you to wait and get your hands off it, then obey and wait on Him! Remember my favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans for good and not for evil, plans to give you a future and a hope.” So, do you want your plan that you aren’t sure how it will turn out or would you like to wait for His plan that will give you a future and hope? Choice is yours today, wait on Him and ask for His strength and grace or try to do it yourself! Hmmmmmmmmm……. now that you are thinking about it, which one do you think will come out best in the end? I don’t know about you, but I could use a little more energy today so I believe I will just give it all to Him and focus on what I can do around here instead.

Know that I am praying for you all today, that God will give you what you need for the day and the faith and strength to trust Him fully.
