2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Do you ever find yourself worrying about something and the worry and fear become so real that you begin to wonder if the situation is real or maybe you have even wondered if God is “trying to tell you something”? As women, especially, we can conjure up situations in our minds that become so real to us that the fear and dread of a situation starts to consume us. You can find that you cannot think about anything else for the dread of that “thing” happening in your life, until you are missing out on all the good in your life that God has for you right now!
My biggest issue with fear that I deal with is always the safety of my children! From the moment my son was born 32 years ago to today, I have to constantly give my children and their safety and well being back to God. I have to constantly remind myself that Jeremiah 29:11 is for them too and God always knows and does what is best for all of us! But, unfortunately there are times I have found that fear just grips my heart and if I allow it to, it can almost cause grief that shouldn’t exist! How silly and yet how real!
God has not given us those fears, they are lies from Hell! God wants you to be empowered to be able to succeed in all that He has called you to! What is your fear today that satan is trying to use to hold you back to get your focus off God and on that fear? Are you like me and you needlessly worry about your children, or maybe you are afraid that something will happen in your marriage or at your job? God hasn’t called you to worry, He has called you to have His power on your life and to have a mind that is “sound”, in other words clear from all of that worry! “Worry is the misuse of your imagination”!
I would like to encourage you today to give all those worries to God and ask Him to fill you with His power and love and to give you a clear head about all of that stuff you are overwhelmed with! Stop buying satan’s lies and fill your heart and mind with the truth of God’s word! Focus on Him and take one day at a time, casting all of your cares on Him, knowing that He cares about you and about those you love! The best is yet to come!
