Matthew 7:7-  Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Typically everyone loves these verses because there’s always a need or desire they we “need” fulfilled, a new car, a new house, more clothes, more money in general, more friends – what is it that came to your mind immediately when you read these verses?

Let’s pause for a moment and really let these verses sink in.  What is it that we really need right now?  What is it that we are truly lacking?  The things that come to my mind this morning are; wisdom, integrity, compassion, grace, knowledge, honor and the love of Christ!  Do you have enough of those?  I don’t!  I can always use more of all of those in my life!  Would I like a new car?  Sure, but is that what I need?  Not today.  Today I need more wisdom to know how to better use my time and the money we have.  I need more of God’s Compassion for others so I can better show the love of Christ.

I am not saying we should never ask for the material things we need.  I am saying that just for today ladies, let’s search ourselves and ask God for those things that will make us more like Him!  Let’s figure out how to become more affective for the cause.

I would encourage you today to pray and ask God to show you any areas of your life that you should be asking for more help in.  Ask Him to show you the things that need to be added to make you more like Him.  Trust me, if you ask, you will will receive it, if you seek Him, you will find Him and if you knock on that door for wisdom and knowledge it will be opened for you!
