Luke 13:7-9,  And he said to the vinedresser, “Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on the fig tree, and I find none.  Cut it down.  Why should it use up the ground?”  And he answered him, “Sir, let it alone this year also until I dig around it and put on manure.  Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.”  

Have you been feeling as though life has covered you in manure?  Everywhere you turn life just stinks?  Ask God if maybe there’s something He is trying to teach you.  When you look back were you getting a bit complacent in your walk with Him?  Or maybe you are striving to do what you feel He is calling you to do, and yet everything seems to be coming against you.  More often than not in order to get to another level in your walk with Him, it takes a little fertilizer to get you there.  We learn the most, unfortunately, during the difficult times in life.  Those times when you have nowhere to turn except to Him is where you will seek Him.

Instead of fighting it all, set your eyes on Him and ask Him to show you what you need to learn in the process.  So often we fight the process and then it just takes that much longer because we are clinging to something that He is trying to show us needs to go so He can replace it with His plan.  His plan is always best!  It is difficult to see that when you aren’t there yet, but that is where trust comes in.  Maybe trust is the one thing He is trying to teach you right now.  Trust His plan, trust His timing, and most of all trust His heart!  He loves you, and He sees you, and He cares, and He has a plan!  Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”  Trust Him and His plan!

If you are not experiencing any storms or struggles right now, Praise God!  Seek Him!  Don’t wait for Him to have to spread manure all over your life to decide to grow!  Get serious about it today.  God wants Christians to get serious about their walk.  We have no business getting complacent or thinking that we have done our part.  It doesn’t matter  how old or young you are, God still has a plan or you wouldn’t be here so are you pursuing that plan?  Don’t think that you have done enough, because we are never to just stop serving Him.  Our lives are to be devoted to Him until He takes us to heaven, that is our purpose.  He loves you and created you as a part of His plan and His desire is to help you become all He created you to be!  Ask Him what His dreams and plans are today.  Ask Him to give you the strength you need and the wisdom to become all He created you to be!
