What Or Who Is Most Important

1 Corinthians 15: 3-4. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance:  that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

There’s just nothing in life more important than that!  There’s nothing you can teach your children that will impact them more than their knowledge that Jesus loved them enough to come to earth and to die for their sin and that He rose again!  There’s no school they will ever get into that will benefit them more than that simple truth!  There isn’t a sport that can compare or skill they can learn that will benefit them more!  So what are you doing to teach them all you can about God while they are still in your care?

Do you and your children know as much about God as you do “This Is Us” or your children do about “Harry Potter”?  Can they tell you as much about the characters of the Bible as they can about the characters of a book or movie; how about you personally?  Who gets the majority of your teaching time with your children ~ you or Hollywood?  I know this is not a fun topic, but it is a necessary one!  Children are more and more confused because they are not being taught the Word of God!  We used to have AWANA in every church in town, and now it is really difficult to find a church that offers much in the way of Children’s church at all.   Deuteronomy 11 18-19 says, “You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.  You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

That’s a lot of teaching, but here’s the deal, I don’t know of anyone on earth that doesn’t want to be successful in life and of course, we all want our children to be successful.  The Bible gives us clear instructions on how to do that but we seem to have fallen away from it because it is easier to just put a movie in or let them play on their electronics than it is to teach them because we are all just too busy.  Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”  The choice is yours; will you follow God’s lead on this or is it just too much work?  I know it is difficult! I raised 3 children and have 10 grandchildren, it is a lot of work, but there are generations that do not know Him!  Our world is going to Hell in a handbasket because they don’t know the importance of 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, will you start today with those you love?  Will you begin to impress on them the importance of that truth?  If you don’t have children to share it with, there are children in your church that can use a loving volunteer in your children’s ministry and there are adults who need this truth as well that you know.  There’s just nothing more important that we can share with anyone on earth!  Let’s start today!

Quote: “All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” ~ Helen Keller  (In thinking about that quote, how much do you love Him?)
