Do you think that mere words are strategy and power for war? In whom do you now trust, that you have rebelled against me?
Those words were spoken against Israel by Rabshakeh, the leader of the king of Assyria’s army. He was trying to terrify the people into believing that they couldn’t stand against him and his army because no one else’s god had saved them! Much to his kings dismay, he lost that argument and war!
Our words are important and who is behind them is vital to our victory in life! When Jesus was challenged by Satan even He used scripture! If the Son of God was careful with His words, don’t you think you should be? If you have no idea what else to say or pray in your situation use the Word of God, but don’t use powerless, negative words that will destroy! Trust me, using scripture as your strategy for the war you face is the best strategy you could possibly have! As it says in Ephesians 6:10-18, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” If all hell is coming against you the last thing you need is to have your words line up with it instead of God!
Choose your words carefully! Choose your thoughts carefully! If you struggle in this area, ask God to help you take every thought captive. I love Toby Mac’s song, “Choose Life” We are called to speak life, not just for ourselves, but for all those around us! Choose your words carefully when you speak about yourself and be careful as well what words you speak over yourself! One day we will give account to God for every word we have spoken, this is not a little thing! Powerless, useless, hateful words are straight from Hell and are power from Satan to destroy. He uses it to destroy faith, hope, dreams, life, your will. He will use your words and the words of others to destroy whatever you allow Him to destroy! You are either walking hand in hand with God today, allowing Him to control your thoughts and words or you are making an agreement with the devil and walking hand and hand with him ~ there is no walking alone! It is your choice today! Your words and attitudes are powerful things! Choose wisely!
“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” Helen Keller
