When The Set Time Comes…

by | Dec 12, 2020

Galatians 4:4-5,  But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

And as it says in Ecclesiastes 3:1, There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

God has a time set for every detail of what He is doing and nothing and no one can interfere with His plan.  He had set a time for Jesus to be born and He was.  He has a time set for those things He has promised you so don’t give up.

We live in a world where everyone seems to expect instant gratification.  I remember years ago I had a friend who was a manager of a McDonalds and one day after dealing with an irritated customer he said, “when will people realize that this is ‘fast food’ not instant?”  Everywhere you turn people are in a hurry to get what they want,  they can barely sit through a red light without getting irritated thinking that it is taking too long.  We have all been in those situations where maybe we scheduled ourselves a bit too tight and that red light is really messing with our schedule.  God doesn’t work on our schedule.  He has a plan.  He knows what is best.  He knows all the details of that plan and who all that plan will affect and no one and nothing is going to stop what God has decided to do.

If God has clearly promised you something then trust Him and don’t give up just because it hasn’t happened yet.  You know, when answers come or miracles happen your day will seem just like every other day until it comes and then suddenly….  Just ask Mary when one day the angel showed up to tell her she had been chosen to be the Mother of the Messiah, or Joseph when he was in prison and all of a sudden he was being summoned by Pharaoh and he became ruler second only to Pharaoh.  God has a plan and even though it may look like nothing will ever change or there is no hope, you can trust Him.

Right now the whole world seems a bit upside down.  You can spend your time fearful or you can spend it trusting that God sees, He cares and He has a plan.  Don’t allow fear to consume you.  God has you in the palm of His hand and He is still in control.  Trust Him with the details and the timing.  Persevere and be steadfast in serving Him in all that you do knowing that truly His best is yet to come!
