Psalm 113, Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord,
Paise the name of the Lord!
Blessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its going down
The Lord’s name is to be praised.
The Lord is high above all nations,
His glory above the heavens.
Who is like the Lord our God,
Who dwells on high,
Who humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?
He raises the poor out of the dust,
And lifts the needy out of the ash heap,
That He may seat him with princes ~
With princes of His people.
He grants the barren woman a home,
Like a joyful mother of children.
Praise the Lord!
No matter what you are doing or where you are today take some time to praise God. Praise will change everything!
I remember the day when I was at lunch years ago in Applebees and overheard some older women talking in the booth behind us and they were talking about how much the church was missing because they had stopped offering a time to go up and pray during worship. They said, “when we praise the Lord we have His attention so what better time than that for prayer as well.”
The more we recognize who our God is, the more we will just automatically want to praise Him! The more you praise Him, the more you will recognize just how amazing and magnificent He is! Have you lost your “awe” of Him? Read the Psalms! Turn on some great praise and worship music! Listen to “What a Beautiful Name” by Hillsong and “Waymaker” by anyone, and every other song you can possibly think of until you are filled with awe and wonder at just how awesome He is! How about, “How Great is our God” or walk around your house singing, “How Great Thou Art”! Whatever your genre of music is that you prefer, there’s praise music to listen to and sing! Praise Him!
Praise will change you and your attitude and therefore your outlook which will change your day! Faith grows when we praise Him! If you are lacking in faith today ~ praise Him! If you feel hopeless and lost ~ seek His face and Praise Him! If you are struggling physically and you wonder if you will ever recover ~ Praise Him! He is the God who heals! He is the God of all comfort! He has the answers that you are so desperately seeking. He sees you! He cares! He loves you more than words can possibly say! He wants to walk with you and guide you into all He created you to be and do! Praise Him today and ask Him to show you what His dreams are for your life! What’s on His heart today? What do you need to do today other than praise His matchless name? Maybe that is all you need to do or can do today ~ that is the best thing ~ praise Him because He is worthy! Trust Him today that no matter what may come your way He is the almighty God and if you are walking with Him you can know that truly His best is yet to come!
