Who Really Has Your Best Interest In Mind

2 Kings 18: 31-32,  “Do not listen to Hezekiah, for thus says the king of Assyria: ;Make your peace with me and come out to me.  Then each one of you will eat of his own vine, and each one of his own fig tree, and each one of you will drink the water of his own cistern, until I come and  take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive trees and honey, that you may live, and not die.  And do not listen to Hezekiah when he misleads you by saying, The Lord will deliver us.

Those were the words of Rabshakeh to the Israelites.  He was “promising” all kinds of wonderful sounding things, making his offer to not kill them sound like he somehow had their best interest in mind.  Seriously?  Do you think that someone who is threatening to kill you could ever truly have your best interest in mind?  That is exactly how satan is!  He will whisper lies to you, especially when you are already down.  Lies like: “you have been waiting so long, God doesn’t really care.  God only shows up for other people, He doesn’t really care about what you are going through.  Just give up, there’s so much more you can do if you just go back.”

What lies is satan trying to tell you today about your situation?  Is he trying to discourage you or distract you from following God?  Is he trying to get you to hold on to something that is hindering your walk with God?  Has he thrown lies at you that are destroying you all the while he makes it all seem like somehow ‘it’s better this way’?  Are his lies destroying your relationships?  It is time to put your foot down and say, “No more!”  Dig your heels in and hold your ground!  Who’s your Daddy?  The God of all creation, that’s who!  The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and He loves you more than words can say!  Don’t give up now!  Hold on to all of His promises!  Pull out those verses and turn on some praise and worship music, know that it is God who loves you and will come  through!  Our timing is rarely His timing, but that is because HIs plans are bigger than ours!

Satan wants you to be his prisoner!  God wants to set you free!  God wants His best for you so don’t you give up on that!  He will come through as He said!  He loves you more than words can say! Wait for Him!  Trust Him!  Love Him and know that truly His best is yet asto come!
