Whose Side Are You On?

Job 2: 9-10    This his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity?  Curse God and die.”  But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak.  Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?”  In all this Job did not sin with his lips.”

Ladies, when you are facing tough times do you hold on to your integrity or do you hold Satan’s hand reinforcing his lies about your situation?  Sometimes I wonder if the reason Satan left Job’s wife and never touched her was because he had the feeling that she would be more of a hinderance to Job than a help.  Ooooo  ouch.  Have you ever been there?

I think there are probably always times when spouses are not what they should be in a given situation but it is when that is your life style that your character shows.  There must be a reason why Satan didn’t see Job’s wife as a threat in the situation for all he was trying to do against Job.  She turned out to be more of a stumbling block than support.

If you find yourself in a situation and you realize that your attitude isn’t what it needs to be take a moment and ask God to create a right attitude and clean heart in you so you can be all you need to be for Him.  It isn’t always easy to bounce out of bed in the morning when everything under the sun seems to be coming at you and always have a right attitude but it is your choice whether or not you hold onto a bad one or put on a new one.

God loves you and He is always there to help you be all you need to be for HIm and for your spouse.  Lean on Him and ask Him to help you in any area you feel you are weak in. None of us are able to go it alone and do it right all the time if we are trying to do it ourselves.  Don’t allow Satan to rob you of your joy by giving you a bad attitude.  Pray for wisdom and guidance in all that you do.  Ask God for the right words and attitudes for your situation – speaking negative will never help you out of where you are.  Seek God and get in agreement with Him about all you are facing, do your part and trust Him to do all you can’t do!  The best is truly yet to come!
