Matthew 6:27-29 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

I know it is easier said that done at times to not worry about what you are facing but it really doesn’t help your situation on any level. All worry does is drain you of energy and the ability to function on the level you need to function on to do what you can and should be doing. When we give our concerns to God and we do our part it frees us up to be able to accomplish what we need to accomplish and it will keep us out of God’s way so He can work on the situation.

I posted a picture on my facebook wall that defines worry appropriately: Worry is a misuse of your imagination. If you stop and think about it for a moment, part of the reason we worry is because we imagine all of the worst things that could happen instead of imagining our great God using these circumstances to show His power and love to us! God is good and God is in control. We need to give Him everything!

We need to trust that He always has a plan for our lives and it is for our good! Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future!” Hold on to that verse today! Every time you feel the urge to worry or get overwhelmed, hold on to the promise He has given! Memorize that verse and then when Satan tries to throw things your way to get you to lose hope and begin to worry you will have the words in your heart to keep you focused on God and His truth!

Have faith today that God is always working and moving forward. He never sleeps and He is aware of what you are facing so take it to Him and leave it there today so you can accomplish what you need to accomplish and you can have the hope and joy He intended you to have!
