Yay! It’s Summertime!

Deuteronomy 11:13-14
And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.

Ladies, I would like to encourage each of you today to not allow the business of Summer activities push God to the side. I know with weekends busy with swimming, vacations, cookouts, camping, etc., it can be difficult at times to keep any semblance of a routine, but if there is one routine your family needs to maintain, it is keeping God at the forefront of all you do.

There are bound to be times that we miss a church service or two throughout the year and summer can be the most likely, but at least spend some time having a moment with your family and God together, praying together, talking about Him, reading His word, praying together. Let your children see you have your devotions so they understand that it is a priority in your life, no matter what else you are doing.

If you are single and you don’t feel you have anyone else you are influencing it is even more important! “What”, you say? Being single allows you the time to focus on Him without interruption and it will make a difference in all of the lives you touch. If you have the time, volunteer to help out with vacation Bible School, or volunteer to help where needed and your time alone with God will shine through to all those around you!

When you truly love someone that is who you want to spend time with and the more time you spend with God, the more you will want time with Him. When we have children it is our responsibility to grow that desire in them as well and the best and really only way to do that is to show them how important it is to you!

We all want success in our lives and the only way to achieve true success is to put God first and that includes our Summer schedule.
