You Aren’t Just The “Neighbor Kid”!

by | Nov 12, 2023

John 3:16-17,  For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

God’s love for you doesn’t mean less after you have accepted Him as your Savior, in fact, you are then loved as a child.  You aren’t just the “neighbor’s kid”.  You are His child and He loves you and He wants to walk through life with you.  He wants to reveal more of Himself to you.  He wants you to learn to trust Him more.  He sees you and He calls you by your name.

It is His love and mercy that draws us.  Don’t allow anyone or anything to come between you and your walk with Him.  Satan is constantly trying to make you second guess God’s love for you through what others may say or through your circumstances.  His lies are as old as they come, that is what he used on Eve, don’t allow him to do that to you.  God wants you to know Him better than you do today.  He wants you to experience His presence.  The only way to do that is by spending more time with Him in prayer and in His Word.  Don’t allow a bad experience at a church or with another person to make you bitter in your walk with God.  Other people are going to disappoint you and even frustrate you, but that is why you must keep your eyes on Him.  Seek His face and His direction.  The darker your circumstances the more you must learn to trust Him and His Word, that is the only place to find your answers.  Ask him to guide you and He will be happy to do so.  Don’t go your own way and fight the urge to push Him away, that is just satan trying to draw you away from God and all He is trying to do in your life.  Pushing God away and doing your own thing will only bring about a bad ending and you certainly don’t want that.

Ask God today to guide you into all He created you to be and to show you how you can walk closer with Him. (Funny, as I write this autocorrect wants to change that to “you can walk closer TO Him” and that is the whole point ~ it isn’t just walking closer TO Him, He wants to walk WITH you!) Read your Bible with fresh eyes.  Ask Him to reveal things to you that you have not seen before.  Ask Him to help you to focus on Him and His dreams for your life.  Trust Him with your whole heart knowing that in Him His best is yet to come!
