2 Corinthians 5:21
For our sake he made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Do you ever just feel “filthy”? It may not be anything that you have done, it may be something someone else has done or said to you and now you feel as though you are about as far away from God as you could get. Maybe you feel as though God doesn’t care or it wouldn’t have happened so therefore, maybe He hates you or something or maybe you just don’t matter in His eyes. Maybe you feel as though something you have done is beyond forgiveness and you have to somehow “pay” for it in order to ever be close to God again and that will “take time”.

No matter what you have done and no matter what anyone else has done, you need to believe that this verse is telling you that God’s got you covered. When you confess your sin, God is faithful and just to forgive you of your sin and He removes your sin from you and Him as far as the East is from the West! He loves you! Satan will do anything to make you feel as though somehow God doesn’t care and He is far from you, but those are lies. God is ever present in your life and you have to get beyond needing to “feel” as though He is there! He has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5) Satan wants you to feel alone because it leaves a door for him to get in and kick you while you are down. Don’t buy the lies! If you have wronged someone else, ask for their forgiveness ~ make it right with them so your relationship with God is right as well.

No one else can do something to make you unworthy in God’s eyes! Do not allow what others say and do to you, to define you in your eyes! As the verse says above, once you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you have become the “righteousness of God”. Jesus blood covers it all ~ get ahold of the fact that God loved you enough to send His son to die for your sin and the sins of others. (John 3:16) He already paid the price for it all so in God’s eyes you can stand, righteous before Him!

You can stand today, in faith, knowing you are righteous before God because of Jesus death on the cross! Nothing you can do or say will add to that! He loves you and cares about every tear you have cried. Hold on to your faith and hope in Him, accept His righteous covering, knowing that the best is yet to come!
