You Don’t Have To Feel Defeated…

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

When our words are negative, faithless, vulgar, hateful, and full of complaining, they can’t possibly be pleasing to God.  What are your words like today?  We all have our days where we seem to have been run over with a garbage truck full of negativity, but it is our choice whether or not we stay there!

What you choose to meditate on will eventually come out of your mouth.  If you meditate on all that God has done in the past and all He can do in your future, then you will lean toward being more hope-filled, but if you are focused on everything that has gone wrong lately then you are bound to continue down that path of negativity.  Have you ever felt truly inspired and empowered by negative thoughts and words?  When you say things like, “I am never going to lose this weight!”, does that make you feel like eating a salad or grabbing that donut sitting over there?

There’s plenty of negativity in the world that will attach itself to you if you let it.  You have a choice every single day what you will meditate on.

Focus on the person you know you are called to be!  Don’t focus on the things you don’t want, focus on the qualities you want to see grow in your life!  We all have areas we struggle in, but it is our choice every day to focus on allowing God to change us in those areas.  Don’t give up on becoming all you can be for Him!  Find verses that will encourage you to do what is right and memorize them.  Choose what you fill your mind with!  Be more careful with what tv shows and books you allow in your home!  Choose positive, uplifting things to fill your mind with and for your spouse to fill his/ her mind with along with your children!  What you choose will set the tone for your home so choose wisely.

Ask God today to help you choose what you meditate on daily so you can know it is pleasing to Him and beneficial to your growth.  Don’t allow negativity to rule your day!  Choose to focus on Him, knowing that the best is yet to come!

Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy ~ meditate on these things.”
