For their rock is not as our Rock; our enemies are by themselves.
No matter what else is going on in the world, and there is a lot going on……… we serve the Living God, The God of All, The One and Only God and our enemies are alone!
If you are serving God and you are seeking Him in all you do, He has not called you to live in fear, He has called you to live in the faith that “He’s got this”! Satan may be behind the attacks we see going on around the world (well, we know he is) but God can and will handle him. As long as you are following God and you are in His will nothing can happen to you that He doesn’t know about. God can defeat whatever enemies you may face, whether they are physical, mental or even other people. They have nothing on Him. Hebrews 13:6, So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Satan would like nothing more than to keep us from doing all we are called to do and be by making us afraid of what he can do or even the terrorists he is behind, but let’s face it, he and his army are nothing for God and His. We must put our faith and trust in Him and we must be praying for His protection and guidance in all that we do.
Our answers for the “fears of the day” are found in God’s word and we can begin with; Joshua 1:8-9, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” There isn’t really anything that we could add to that. We are called to be in His Word and that is where our strength and success will come from even when it comes to our enemies that we may face. Just like God told the Israelites through Moses in Deuteronomy, “our enemies are by themselves”
My prayer for each of you today is that God will keep you and protect you no matter if your enemy can be seen or is unseen and that He will give you the confidence and strength in Him that you need! On a side note; as I am writing this I can hear my granddaughter singing in the other room a song by For King and Country that fits this devotion perfectly….. check it out
