Your Words Can Bring Life or Death to The Situation

1 Peter 3:8-12
Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For,
“Whoever would love life
   and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
   and their lips from deceitful speech.
 They must turn from evil and do good;
   they must seek peace and pursue it.
 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
   and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

Society would probably not agree with any of the above statements in these verses. The nature of people today is to repay evil with evil and insult with insult (a classic example of that would be during the political campaigns) What is it like in your home? Do insults fly? Is everyone holding onto something that was done years ago to use in the next argument? Do you use sarcasm to be witty in your jabs? If we want God’s blessing on our lives ladies we must be careful to watch our words and behaviors. We need to behave and respond the way Jesus would, God is watching according to these words and we need to do what is right regardless of the way others around us are behaving. If your husband is mean and insulting? It won’t help if you are. I am not saying “be a doormat”, I am saying that we need to pray for God to give us the right response, whether it is your boss or husband or parents or friends, whomever it is we need to have the correct response.

Pray today that God will give you self control and wisdom in this area and pray for His blessing on your life as you pursue doing right. Let’s grow into the women of God He has called us to be where our beauty, as it says in Proverbs 31 “outshines them all” because it is His!

Quote:
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”

    Thank you Janet! I needed to hear this today. It looks like I will be in a position that these words apply! Also reaffirm, what I know to be truth. Thank you again! Blessings! Kathy
