Your Words, Your Words, Your Words

Ladies, please take the time today to share Chocolate and God with others so we can reach more women to empower them and walk life together for God!  Thank you!

James 3:10  “From the same mouth come blessing and cursing.  My brothers, these things ought not to be so.”

What are you saying?  The words you speak to others, about others and to and about yourself are powerful!  We need to be ever thoughtful of what we are saying.  Words can pierce hearts when spoken even if you are talking to yourself!  Why would we ever think it is ok to say hateful mean things to ourselves or others?  Do you realize that when you speak hateful, negative things you are walking hand and hand with Satan agreeing with him about the situation or person.

Satan’s goal is to get us to believe and speak his lies.  It is time to make our agreements with God about who and what we are and about our situations.  It is also time for us to learn to speak in agreement with God about others.  As Thumper’s Dad told him, “if you don’t have something good to say, don’t say ‘nothin’ at all.”  Straighten out that double negative there and you’ve got it!

In other words if you are just going to complain about your situation, yourself or others then just keep your mouth closed!  It’s really more simple than we think sometimes, just don’t say it!  Check your words at the door of your mouth and if they are negative or hateful then don’t speak them until something better to say comes along.  Don’t allow Satan the opportunity to use your voice to get his message out!

Ask God this morning to help you discern the hold that Satan has on your mouth and to help you correct your thoughts and words to line up with God’s thoughts and words.  There’s no power in the lies of Satan if you don’t speak them but there’s mighty power in the Word of God if you will begin speaking it over yourself, your situation and others around you.  You will even find that there is power in speaking God’s word in a positive way over your “enemies”.  Don’t allow Satan to use your voice for his bidding for one more minute, give your mouth, your thoughts and all that you say and do to God and ask Him to train you to be His voice instead so you can be encouraging, uplifting and a messenger of His Gospel and grace.  You will be amazed at how much better you feel throughout your day if you will just stop all of the negative garbage and line your thoughts and words up with what God has to say!

I have prayed today for God to keep a hold on my thoughts and my mouth today and have shared this devotion on facebook. Thank you for all your devotions, I have been sharing them with my daughters and our youth and adults youth workers of my church.

I wish my parents and grandmother and also my sister would’ve heeded this. They really needed and still need to hear this passage.

This message flows with what I am reading in The Resolution for Women, My Blessing session. This is a good message that we all need to remember, acknowledge and use.
