No Need to Feel Frazzled, Let’s Add a Little Balance…

by | May 16, 2019

Zephaniah 3:17. The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Do you ever have those days when you are either just beginning your day or maybe you are at the end of your day and you just feel as though you haven’t accomplished all you should or you are not totally who you should be and you are just overwhelmed and frustrated with yourself?  Girl, I certainly do!  There’s just nothing like that heaviness that sets in when you just feel as though maybe you just aren’t enough in some area or you just aren’t measuring up.  Well, let me tell you this; if you are seeking God and you are following His will for your life then those feelings are not coming from Him!

Maybe it is time to take a look at what all you are trying to accomplish to see if that could be the problem.  My guess is, it does because we often see everything that needs to be done and somewhere from deep inside “Superwoman” screams: “If we just schedule out the day in half-hour increments we just may be able to accomplish what three women could do today and then when we don’t, we feel as though we have failed.  Seriously?  I cannot tell you how many times I have done that and then I realize later that thinking I could deep clean a child’s bedroom in a half hour was ridiculous!  Helloooo!

You are one woman and you have many things, I am sure, that need to be done but take a look at what you are expecting of yourself, and if you don’t have some down time in your schedule for the day, then that is where you have failed yourself and your family.  You need time for you! In these verses we see that God is in our midst and He will save and rejoice over you with gladness and will help quiet you and your day, you will never notice it if you are on the run all day.  I feel so stretched at times with all that I need to do that it is easy for me to have days where I am exasperated by the end of the day because there was no way to get it all done!  It is time to stop that and make a reasonable schedule, you may need to have a friend look it over to see if it is balanced.  Pray over your schedule and ask God to give you the wisdom to be able to bring about balance to it.  Do some delegating!

God wants us to have balance and He doesn’t want you to feel defeated at the end of the day!  There is one of you and God has a plan in mind for you that fits, so stop trying to take on the world everyday, slow down enough to be able to hear His voice in all that you do and you will find His peace at the end of your day and you can wake up refreshed knowing you can accomplish His will for your day.  His will is not for you to feel frantic and defeated, you should feel empowered and able!  The best is yet to come but you may have to slow down to find it!
